Worship

We are a New Testament church of the Lord Jesus Christ. We are a local body of baptized believers who are associated by covenant in the faith and fellowship of the gospel, observing the two ordinances of Christ, committed to his teachings, exercising the gifts, rights, and privileges invested in them by His word, and seeking to extend the gospel to the ends of the earth.

Our church is small. We strive to make every use of the resources at our disposal. We provide many of the activities of larger churches while maintaining the closeness of a small church.

Our facilities are used for community activities such as Girl Scouts, neighborhood watch programs and many others.

We have hosted hunter safety seminars that teach not only the legal requirements but also add to the curriculum the spiritual view of good stewardship of all of God’s creation.

Missions

We strive to be a dynamic spiritual organization committed to share Jesus Christ with as many people as possible in our church, community, and throughout the world.

Taking mission trips to help other believers in churches all across the US is one way we fulfill needs and is an active part of our church life. We help bring together men, women and youth wanting to experience the giving of themselves to help with many different projects.

We traveled to Colorado two years to help with construction of worship facilities in a church there.

Members helped with construction work in a Baptist church in Maryland.

Youth participants conducted backyard bible clubs in Maryland and joined with youth from Alabama to participate in a block party while there.

Ministry

Our ministries are an everyday part of our church life. We provide Sunday school services for a nearby nursing home to residents not able to attend traditional services.

An active Men’s Brotherhood meets for breakfast and fellowship monthly.

Members come together to give new life to our building and grounds through a remodeling project of our own church.

GA activities give children an active role in learning to become mature Christians in today’s society.

Our WMU is active in awarding scholarships that have become an important part of our church. WMU provides guidance and leadership for our benevolence fund.

Vacation Bible school brings out the best in our church. We love to host as many children as possible to help in their religious education through Bible stories, crafts and games.

Maturing In Christ

We have Sunday school beginning with assembly at 9:45. This allows all Sunday school participants to come together for a short devotional that creates unity and focus in our Bible study.

Fellowship events include cookouts and worship services at Rice Acres, Cleary Lake and other locations. We love to come together for good food and fellowship.

Hosting watermelon cuttings and peanut boils in the summer provide great get-togethers. The ice cream freeze is always a hit as we get to sample many different varieties and flavors of homemade ice cream.

We do hamburgers right! Our cookouts are family affairs that can include such oddities as venison sausage.

Fish fry get-togethers find the cooks sampling the wares before they are served. The catfish is fresh and hot with the hushpuppies lacking. Oh well, we keep trying. Gotta good recipe?
